Set up for failure.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was set up for failure the minute I signed with Insight. I interviewed for a Microsoft PM role at the beginning of the year.

The role was described to me as being primarily project management/customer service based, which is where my experience lies. However, a few weeks in, I realized that the job I was being asked to do was not AT ALL reminiscent of the job description or what was presented to me in the interview. It became abundantly clear that the role was not clearly defined, and as a result I was thrown into a situation where it was almost impossible to succeed. Most of my day was spent working on data-analysis and using complex financial programs I had no familiarity with.

I repeatedly reached out to my Insight Rep/manager for training/assistance, but I was given none. I communicated my concerns to my Rep about a month in, and he reached out to the client multiple times, communicating my concerns. Leadership provided no feedback or support and I was essentially ignored. It was clear that the client was very disorganized, did not have the position fully defined, and I was not set up for success.

A few months in, I got a call from my Rep on a Sunday evening letting me know that the Microsoft team had discovered that the job was best suited for someone more senior, with very specific experience pertaining to data analysis, and that the previous Friday was my last day and that "my services would no longer be needed by the MSFT client". My Insight Rep was apologetic and agreed that this was a "uncommon" situation and I did nothing wrong. Thus, I was put out of a job with no warning and no advance noticed. To make things worse, at the time, I was about two-weeks shy from being able to qualify for unemployment benefits, and I expressed this to my Insight Rep, hoping they would allow me to work for two more weeks, considering the circumstances.

He informed me that unfortunately the client "did not have the budget". I had a hard time believing this was the case due to the fact that they were prepared to hire and pay an FTE, senior individual to take over the role after I left. All and all, Insight put me in a VERY difficult situation, financially and personally, both of which I am still recovering from. My experience with Insight incredibly disappointing, stressful and frustrating, and I will not be recommending this company to anyone.

Finally, the health benefits are essentially non-existent. It's pretty much 100% out of pocket. The premiums are OUTRAGEOUS and not at all affordable (around $450+ a month), especially considering the non-competitive wages. I am now with a consulting firm in another MSFT role, and it is truly heaven on earth in comparison to Insight.

It's truly night and day. There are many, many consulting companies out there that are way better then Insight: wage-wise, support-wise, and ethically- AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Failed Communicators / NoFollow-up / Do Not Use This Service

Do Not Use This Service IG recruiters missed 2 scheduled calls in a row- I had to do the follow-up both times to find out what the delay was-they over booked the "skype room" and could not do my session(3rd attempt) , 4th time the session took place- now it's going on multiple weeks since, and I have heard nothing back- not even "we have nothing for you". This is unacceptable for type of business. I will leave out any name to protect the un-caring do-nothing employees that have wasted 3 weeks of my time to only wait, and wait again and wait even more.

Seems to me as if you can't be easily placed right away, they just do not contact. I have no idea how they treat others, but my experience with them has been basically silence and me trying to get a response- I gave up and moved on.

Being employed is how you live-

Breach of Contract.

I was hired to work by Insightglobal, for an IT company. I was told and signed a contract, stating I would be paid per hour, for hours worked.

This was false. This company pays you whatever they deem fit.

Children "playing" business

Unprofessional. My first Full time job was through them.

They said once the position went perm I would be making a significant amount more. After the contract ended and I requested the rate I was told was average for full time hires the director informed me my pay would only increase $1/Hr...nothing close to what they said. I bargained my contract to be 4 months rather than 6 and at specific rate. Upon coming into the office I learned my recruiter was not there.

I was greeted by 2 people who knoew nothing about the agreement and gave me the incorrect contract. I left with intent to return once the contract was corrected. I had to follow up to actually find a time to come in and complete it. No one reached out to me.

Upon walking in several days later my contract rate was correct but the term was extended. This was never discussed. My recruiter still was a no show. I was told my start date and went on my way.

I moved up and planed to live in a hotel til my lease was ready.

3 days before I was expected to show for my first day my actual recruiter called and said employment would be delayed 2 weeks. I had to pay a considerable amount to live out of a hotel all that time.

Don't Trust Insight Global

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I worked for them through many jobs and had a lot of bad experience. First job, they informed me it would be 6 months - 1 year contract.

Within one month, I was let go. My manager informed me that Insight global was incorrect and the job was only meant for month. Second job, I was working Sundays and the law states that all employees that work Sundays are suppose to be given "Time and a Half". Had to fight in court to get it and then they fire me.

Sued them again for my job back. Third job, they skipped paying me three weeks in a row. I had to call a attorney and take this issue to court just to get my money.

Everyone I spoke to (that worked for Insight Global) stated that the company is deceitful, corrupt, and criminal. Take my advice and find a different contracting company to work for.

Don't waste time

they're mostly college graduates.. After having hired student staff and managed them.

I can tell you. They are immature at that age. The ones who aren't are the ones who go far. But the ones who are, are mediocre at best..

I got this sense from Insight Global when I went into their office and interviewed, two recruiters came in, one offering a position out of the blue in addition to the one I spoke about with the original recruiter over the phone. they were dressed like they were out of the 80s. I could tell they only have a bachelor's degree. 100% not qualified to recruit for data science roles.

I had a PhD, why am I wasting my time with them?

I actually did ask this during the interview because it was only a 10 minute interview, but their office is downtown dallas.. basically don't waste your time with this company.

Like Aerotek, they hire fresh college graduates with no recruiting experience. For many, this is their first professional job or their first job, period.

Whatever you don't, don't share with them where you are interviewing or give them your references. They will use that information to gain new clients.

This is not a EOE company. They fired me Friday night.

7:00pm. Way after business hours. They did not drug test me. They did not do a background check until a week later.

Fired me For a Misdemeanor. They wouldn’t pay me for the 40 hours I’ve work. Their. Internet web site needs updating and does not work-timesheet download.

Doesn’t work. The id. And passwords they gave me didn’t work. Someone needs to sue this company to the ground.

I worked for a level one Security door policy company. The company I worked for. Loved me. And did not fired me.

Insight global did. At 7:00pm Friday night. Never been fired at night time. Four after the business closed.

Usually when you get fired they take your badge and your ID cards and then escort you off the property. This company is so unprofessional.

It sicken me. Thank you.

Very Deceptive - A Complete Waste of Time - Not Impressed!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

They contacted me non-stop to arrange an interview about a position and over the course of several months, I got calls from the same person about the EXACT SAME POSITION, hmm!! I finally arranged a meeting at their office and met with two people one appeared to be in training.

During the meeting, one persons made an off handed remark about job hopping due to the fact that I had done several consulting jobs, which I felt offended by and thought was very unfair but I decided not to let it get to me and chose instead to continue to focus on the task at hand. Later that day, I followed up with a nice thank you note and by the end of same day they had checked my references; so I felt really elated and thought great things are moving forward. So far so good. But then radio silence, I knew it was not my references...

hmm!! but what?. Anyway, a couple days later, I got a call from a person from the same office about the "same imaginary position" and I initially thought that this new person was working in tandem with the others I had met with but when a week later the new person followed up again and invited me to come into their office that same day to meet, that is when I really became confused. I explained that my schedule did not permit me to meet that day but I was open to meeting AGAIN another day but then things got strange because the person's tone changed (voice inflection) and I got the sense that the person was not pleased at all with my response.

I guess my schedule was supposed to be whatever they wanted it to be, hmm!! I also asked why the need to meet and was told that they need to make sure candidates are suitable to present to clients. Fair enough but I explained that I was just in your office and met with two of your recruiters for the same "SUPPOSED" role, and asked "could you speak with them to get feedback on my appearance and how I presented myself and the outcome of my reference check, etc"? I went on to reiterate that I had only met with the others in their office a little over a week ago?

Anyway, my impression of this whole fiasco is that they are completely disorganized and cross communication is either non-existent or does not flow well there. After I explained that I could not meet the same day as I had other commitments, the person stated that they would check their schedule and get back with me but I waited and never got a call back. That same day, I also placed a call to the initial person I had met with to get a sense of what was really happening there and to also gain some insight and feedback about my candidacy, etc but was told by the front dest that the person was on the phone and would call me back immediately after their call ended. However, I never received a call from the person either.

Needless to say, I have a very bad taste in my mouth over the entire experience.

I feel their attitude and behavior leaves much to be desired and also feel that they appear to operate with a careless disregard for people and other's time. These are the same people that are supposed to be examples of professionalism and yet they are the ones that are behaving in such horrible ways and with a blatant disregard for others.

My recruiter told me to call her after my interview and the girl at the front desk told me the exact same thing- that my recruiter was on the phone and would call me back, but I never got the call. Beyond that they were rushed and did not seem interested in the interview at all, they just wanted to talk about the bar crawl that all the employees were going on that weekend. Very unprofessional and incompetent.

They're a truly SCAM-artist agents/rep., they will call you for a job and then they don't follow up. Then next day I got an email letting me know I have an interview with this company.

Then she said as soon I'm in the parking lot call her Manager/rep. to confirm upon my arrival.

Well when I got there, immediately I called her manager, but the manager said that she doesn't have anyone scheduled interview for that day. So I was totally pissed and yelled at her and I emailed her back w/ such a profanity.

Guest

Bad,Bad,company, unprofessional people liar old time also have face to face interview with lot promise lot email for job this still a big scammer company oaa!!!!!!! company ahahahahahahhaa

Guest

I had a similar experience with this company. The account manager was unprofessional during the process and they called me repeatedly to come in for a face to face interview.

They would sometimes call me 3-5 back to back daily which came off desperate. My recommendation to the company is to invest more time into to training the staff to prepare them to talk to professionals that are looking for work.

Guest

About the same thing with me. They asked for references almost immediately during a telephone interview.

The called my refs pitching their placement services. The 2 positions I was ideally suited for "went in another direction" within 2 days of the initial call.

If you deal with these people, hold back references until an offer is close from the prospective employer. My guess is you won't get anywhere with them if you don't provide references right away.

Like you, I didn't see anyone in the office over 25.

Guest

Check with your references. I guarantee you they will tell you the Insight Global rep hit them up with a sales speech.

That's why they checked your references: they use applicant references to gain new clients. Your references have now been added to a database and will continue to receive sales calls from IG!

Just read current and former IG employee reviews on Glassdoor. They tell you all about it!

Shady group

This so called recruiting company is really shady. Mike Penny, so called recruiter in Kansas City, called and left me a message stating I’m the perfect candidate for a position they had with a large company.

After wasting more than 40 minutes of my time he says “I don’t believe your skill set is right for the position”. It was supposedly for a Regional Managers position with Steak and Shake. My skill set?

I’ve been in the industry for 20 plus years and District Manager for over 5 of that. I feel bad for Steak and Shake if they are paying these so called recruiters money.

Half-baked process. What was the point of that?

In short, use them if you want to hear about some leads, but THAT'S IT. Don't rely on them, and apply separately from them- even to the companies they have supposedly hooked you up with an interview.

They act as a sort of 'middle-man' for companies searching for a segmented labor pool, but half of them end up dropping your interview scheduled through this company- I would honestly like to know how seriously companies take applicants if they're scheduled through Insight Global. Either that, or some of their recruiters (mostly post-collegiate party animals) lack thoroughness.

If you want to be thorough with your own job search then DO IT YOURSELF. I feel gaslit after dealing with them- they're polished and present well, but lack follow-through and cheapen what you should just do yourself.

They are famous for hiring "straight from college kids" with no recruiting background. Like a lot of agencies, they use your professional references to try drum up new business leads for themselves.

My advice: don't use a staffing agency, period. Find your own work and don't deal with these agencies.

Unhappy with Onsight Recruiting

I was contacted by Onsight Recruiting (Lindsey Darling) about a project in Muskogee. I was given a vague description of the job.

Was told I would use a screwdriver and would possibly step up on a step ladder. I was not able to finish the project. They did not let us have breaks at all. The lunch break was about 20 minutes by the time you walks out of the huge building.

The supervisor wanted us to climb 6 ft tall step ladders almost to the top and reach over our heads with both hands to take scanning equipment off the ceiling. I almost fell off the ladder. By the time I left after an 8 hour shift; I could not hardly walk. I emailed the recruiter as soon as I finished the shift as she was already out of the office.

As of this morning (5 days after I worked) I had not received any communication from them at all. I emailed her back explaining that the assignment was not safe. Her reply was, "Thanks for clarifying.

Im sorry the job wasnt what you expected, best of luck in your future endeavors!" They are not interested in good workers. They are only interested in working you like a mule!

NO Pay

I have been trying to get a paycheck for sometime from insight and I keep getting the run around from Joe Madsen stating he put in a request it's been since April 24th I have been waiting to get paid and i also contacted their corporate office in Atlanta and they never answered. So now I am working with L & I to get my pay and may have to hire an attorney.

I don't reccommend them to anyone. If they call you hang up!

I never approached them they approached me after stalking monster.com and I would be aware that they will hire people before their paperwork is finished and if it doesn't pan out and you went to the job everyday they have no intention to pay for the time that you spent going to work. Time that could have been spent looking for a real job with real pay.

I’m glad I seen this. I got a call from the Cincinnati office and got hired with the client without ever meeting them or filling out 1 document.

I think I’ll stay away from this. Since when does a staffing agency hire you without the client’s say so?

That makes absolutely no sense at all.

This company hires inexperienced, straight-from-college, kids who's last job may have been at Chili's. If you read online employee reviews, many have reported working here is like being in a frat house.

They HAVE to pay you.

The Labor Board/Commission in your state will force them to get off their sophomoric backsides and pay you. I'd also file a complaint with the BBB and the Consumer Protection Division of your state's Attorney General's Office.
